Expansionist China is not taking the name of reform. After Ladakh, China is now eyeing Arunachal Pradesh. He is approving major construction works in Tibet. These construction works are being done in far-flung areas which are a few kilometers from the border of Arunachal Pradesh, India. In this series, China will now build a big dam on the Brahmaputra river in Tibet. China's parliament has approved the 14th Five-Year Plan on dam construction on the Brahmaputra River on Thursday.

What will be the effect on India?
After the construction of this dam, many neighboring countries, including India, Bangladesh, may face both drought and flood as the water of the dam can be stopped at any time, which can open the doors of the dam as and when desired. With this, the flow of water will come rapidly towards the north-eastern states of India. Floods may occur in many states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam. China is building this dam on the Yarlung Zangbo River, which flows into India and forms the Brahmaputra River. This river, originating from the Tibet Autonomous Region, forms the Brahmaputra in Assam. The Brahmaputra goes to Bangladesh via Assam. That is why Bangladesh is also opposing the construction of China's dam. The Brahmaputra is considered the basis of life for the North Eastern states of India and Bangladesh and millions of people depend on it for their livelihood.

The Chinese Parliament approved the 14th Five-Year Plan on projects costing billions of dollars. It also includes the controversial hydropower project on the Brahmaputra River in Tibet near the Arunachal Pradesh border, on which India has expressed concern. According to media reports, the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, on Thursday approved the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for national economic and social development on the last day of the six-day session. The NPC has more than two thousand members, most of whom are from the ruling Communist Party. The session was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qing and other senior leaders.

The NPC has also approved a development roadmap that includes 60 proposals to accelerate China's development. It was passed by the Communist Party of China (CPC) last year. The 14th Five-Year Plan included the construction of a dam on the lower stream of the Brahmaputra River, to which India and Bangladesh expressed concern. China has overcome such concerns, saying that it will take their interests into consideration.

India apprised of its concern The
Government of India has consistently conveyed   its views and concerns to the Chinese authorities and urged them to ensure that none of its activities harm their interests. Che Dulha, deputy head of the Communist Party of Tibet Autonomous Region, said during the NPC session that officials there should try to start construction (of the dam) this year.
